Polish Bike Giant 7Anna Files for Bankruptcy Amid Market Turmoil

Poland’s renowned bicycle manufacturer 7Anna Group has announced bankruptcy, sending ripples through the cycling industry. Home to popular brands Rondo, NS Bikes, and Creme Cycles, the company now faces restructuring amid a turbulent market.

A Leading Name in Poland’s Cycling Industry

For nearly 24 years, 7Anna has been a pillar of Poland’s bicycle sector, celebrated for its innovative and diverse product lines—from Rondo’s gravel bikes to Creme’s urban city cruisers.

From Visionary Start-Up to Industry Leader

The company’s story began in 2001, when Szymon Kobyliński and his wife Anna founded 7Anna with a bold vision. Their sharp market instincts fueled rapid expansion:

  • 2004: Launch of NS Bikes, targeting mountain and freestyle riders

  • 2008: Introduction of Octane One

  • 2010: Debut of Creme Cycles, focusing on stylish city bikes

In 2017, the company made waves with Rondo, a pioneering gravel bike brand that captured a growing niche and propelled 7Anna to the top of Poland’s cycling market.

In 2021, private equity firm Resource Partners acquired the company, with the founding team staying on board. Earlier this year, NS Bikes even partnered with DJI to develop an electric mountain bike prototype, signaling its entry into the booming e-MTB segment.

A Perfect Storm of Challenges

Despite these successes, 7Anna faced mounting pressures:

  • Post-pandemic demand fluctuations

  • Rising costs and financial strain

  • The collapse of core assembly partner Sprick Cycle GmbH in late 2024, which delivered the final blow

As CEO Tomasz Cybula told Polityka:

“Sometimes you have to fall to stand up stronger, but that doesn’t make the process any less painful.”

The last few years have been especially brutal for smaller manufacturers. While major brands survived through aggressive cost-cutting and securing large-scale investments, smaller players like 7Anna lacked the same financial cushion.

“Not the End, But a New Beginning”

Aneta Romanik, Marketing Project Manager at Rondo, emphasized on LinkedIn:

“The past few years have been extremely challenging for 7Anna and our team, but we are still fighting for the future of our brands—Rondo, NS Bikes, and Creme. Filing for bankruptcy is a formal step; it does not mean the end of our business, but rather creates space for restructuring and negotiations with investors.”

The cycling community responded with empathy and nostalgia. One rider commented:

“This is bad news for the industry. When few cared about gravel, Rondo brought a unique voice to the segment. For many of us, NS defined freestyle riding in the 21st century.”

A Symbol of Industry-Wide Turbulence

7Anna’s financial woes reflect more than a single company’s misfortune—they highlight the growing pains of an entire industry adjusting to a post-pandemic world.
